Rating: - Good scanner at a reasonable price
After some initial problems setting the scanner up (my macbook seemed to think it was another keyboard, what i didn't know, as there was no meaningful guide, was that i could ignore the message and use it) the scanner works fine, and it's very useful. The item scanned appears almost instantly on amazon. I've not tried it on any other sites. Recommended for anyone who needs to list a large group of items without having to type in the barcode.

Rating: - Probably good for the price
Works, but not as sensitive as previous barcode scanners I have owned. These have been the sort where a red light is continually scanned back & forth.

This scanner needs careful positioning even on clearly printed barcodes, which takes time. I can't get it to work on poorer contrast or worn barcodes.

Rating: - Simple and cheap
Does what it says on the tin and is dead cheap. I was looking for something to make cataloguing my DVD collection easier. Plugged this in and haven't looked back.

Rating: - Great device!
Being a Mac user/engineer, I'm always a little wary of buying generic products as I've had to return a few over the years that claimed to be Mac compatible but turned out not to be, but I'm delighted to report that this scanner worked almost instantly - just had to choose the settings from the manual by scanning them in... so it did actually work instantly without installing anything at all!

Excellent quick service from the supplier. Well packed and working on arrival however I think it was designed in Taiwan, assembled in China with instructions written by someone whose command of English is as good as my command of the Chinese language. The difference is I don't write Chinese instruction booklets?
