I purchased the Epson V500 scanner and found it easy to work with giving you excellent results provided you spend time in getting your colours, details, format to your liking. It is fast and easy. I would like to have the right to place the scanned subject into the folder you wished and not for the scanner to decide. I also think the scanner should be much heavier therefore making it more stable. I previously had the Epson 2450 Perfection, which to me was a far better scanner but much slower working. ... I bought the scanner because it was advertised as capable of scanning medium format slide positves and it workrd successfully in that mode. Whether the quality was high was difficult to judge in this case since my film positives had degraded over time. Then I tried it on prints and it did a great job; the apparent ability to straighten a skewed placement and to read the size of the print was "amazing" as they say nowadays. I ordered from Amazon on Saturday (standard delivery) and it arrived the following Tuesday morning. After reading earlier reviews I was happy to find the windows 7(64bit) driver on the CD. I did not install any of the other software although Photo shop 6 was included. I access the copier via Serif Photo Plus and it functions in a very similar way to the Canon photo copier it replaces.
