- Don't bother!I must add my comments, to try and save potential purchasers some of the pain I've suffered with this router! Yes, it does set up very quickly and simply and, unlike many other reviewers, for me it always worked perfectly "wirelessly". However, as a hard-wired router it has quickly deteriorated in the few weeks that I've been using it. I've had to re-boot it and, more recently my PC too, at least once per day. It appears to me to be overheating and I have not simply had to wait a few seconds for ... Read More

- Ok for wired connection, wireless is very unstableI bought this router a few months back and was pleased with the wired connection, but when it comes to WiFi it becomes a disaster. The connection is very flaky even when you are only 2m away from it. I can keep a connection for under a minute and the download speed is poor. This is extremely disappointing. Look for another product if you are after a WiFi connection. In another home, I use an Orange Livebox and I don't get this sort of problems.

- PoorWork in IT as an infrastructure administrator for over 10 years and cannot recommend this even for home / domestic environments. Unreliable, near impossible to get 802.11n speeds (I'm running in 130mbps mode) and requires occasional reboots.
Recommended the DG834 series for years to home users but this I'd steer well clear.

- Do not buy this routerBought this router as an upgrade for the netgear dg834g and after a week of calls to netgear support (totally useless) i am sending the thing back. The problems started out of the box, the installation disc would not work, had to manually do it myself, next it would'nt connect to my netgear stora, more phone calls (again useless) When i eventually got it to recognise the stora, i then found only 2 of the lan ports worked, again netgear said this is a common problem, send it back to get replaced, ... - Highly Customiseable routerThis is a highly versatile router. While not necessarily the best build quality the standard firmware and setup is simple to understand and easy to use. I live in a rural area and have bought 2 of these (for relatives and myself).
What makes it really unique is the ability to use quite possibly the best custom firmware there is on it to improve your connectivity beyond normal routers.
This doesn't come as standard but the dgn2000, dg834gt and dg834 are all capable of being ... Read More
