- Canon Lide 700 and windows 7 64 bitAs other reviewers have stated the scanner is light and compact but this comes at the expense of build quality. The negative carrier is not very robust and difficult to handle in use. However the hardware performs well and is good value for money. The big downside is if you use Windows 7 64 bit as the provided software is not fully functional. Unfortunately, as I have found before,Canon Support is not up to the job of resolving the problems. They do not seem to be knowledgable and try to pass off ... Read More

- Nice scanner - shame about the negative holderOnly had this for a few days but generally impressed. That is apart from the method of scanning negatives, which is primitive. The film just lays loosely in the holder, when in other makes it is held firmly. You have to scan one frame at a time - the Epson equivalent can recognise frames, so once set up you can leave it. - at last she's happyBought this after 'er indoors' did all the research to find out which one she wanted. Then got dragged to the shop only to find she didn't want it after all, so went home and found the 700 lide on line.
Suddenly she's happy, so so am I.
Easy to set up, and easy to use, no problems with the software that others report.
Have yet to try it with negitives, as she's nicked it for her work stuff, but so far there's not one complaint.
Still fiddling with the ... Read More

- Canon Scanner LiDE 700FI was looking to replace a Canonscan 1250 and was unsure whether to purchase an all in one printer/scanner.I decided on a separate scanner to be able to scan film. Setup was simple and so far it seems to be working well. Not sure about the software, seems a little complicated compared to my last scanner.
